Clay Camp 2013 Update





Clay Camp 1, Beginners: June 17 - 21
24 people max
age 7 - 10 years old, no experience needed

Clay Camp 2, Intermediate: June 24 - 28
20 people max
age 9 - 12 years old, must have an experience of making pottery especially wheel throwing

Clay Camp 3, Advanced: July 8 - 12
10 people max
age 12 - 15 years old, must be able to use electric wheel without support, prefered to attend clay camp in last two years or equivalent experience. Students will concentrate wheel throwing and also make high quality sculpture with professional artists. Required self motivation and strong interest for arts.

Cost: $85 per student
Drop Off: 11:30am - 12pm
Class: 12pm - 3pm  (1:30-1:50 Snack Break)
Pick Up: 3pm - 3:30pm
* students may bring own lunch and eat before class begins in the clay studio eating area

Clay Camp for Teachers 2013

Class Description:
This class is made for teachers and instructors who want to brush up pottery making technique and knowledge for their class room. STARworks Ceramics will offer and share useful information from our ceramic educational programs.

Schedule:
Clay Camp for Teachers 1: July 23 (Tue) 12-2pm (and 1 hour extra studio hour)
Workshop: Hand building and Wheel Throwing

Clay Camp for Teachers 2: July 30 (Tue) 12-2pm (and 1 hour extra studio hour)
Workshop: Handbuilding and trimming
Seminar: clay, under glaze, and other useful materials and information

Clay Camp for Teachers 3: Aug 6 (Tue) 12-2pm (and 1 hour extra studio hour)
Workshop: Glazing and Glaze Firing
Seminar: Glaze making and managing firing

Clay Camp for Teachers 4: Aug 13 (Tue) 12-1pm
Seminar: Evaluation, exhibition set up and other issues, gallery talk, etc
Participants will pick up their own pots

$100 for 4 series
All materials, instruction and firing fee are included
20 people maximum
Participants must be an art related teacher

What a great night

STARworks held the closing reception of Summer Student Exhibition at STARworks Gallery on August 10 (fri). 5:30-7:30pm. 53 (+1) Clay camp students, 2 clay camp instructors, 2
volunteer instructors, 2 guest artists, and 12 glass camp students exhibited beautiful art works.

Clay Camp: Class 2

Clay Camp Intermediate was successfully done. There were 25 students, lots of projects and students works, and 1000 pounds of STArworks clay were gone in a week. I was also glad there were11 students from last year's clay camp and it made me feel good. Thank you for your hard work.

Ben Owen came on the 2nd day and taught them wheel throwing

Clay Camp: Class 1

Just quick update.

Clay Camp Class 1 was all done successfully and everyone made great final project on Friday.
There were 28 students, lots of lots of pots, and 1000 pounds of clay in five days. 

Great job!
